Many people do not realize how much money you could save if they just take the time to do some simple things for your car. Everyone is busy today with work and relationships and many other types of stress, but take ten minutes of your busy schedule to do simple maintenance care attention, you can save time and money in the long term.
Here are some common mistakes with their cars:
1) Not sure your tires are inflated properly – I guess there is no real work involved, it is recommended tire pressure is clearly printed on the tire. One thing you have to buy if you do not have one, is a tire pressure gauge. You do not have to be fancy, most reliable indicators of costs around five dollars less in many cases.
Proper tire inflation can help in several ways. The first is that a tire properly inflated can save gas, a precious commodity these days. That the tires have the correct amount of pressure makes it last longer, and do their job better. Over or under inflated tires can blow, causing an accident, or you have to replace or repair. If you must use a spare, do not drive around it like a normal tire, are not designed to drive by, enough to reach a repair shop.
2) Do not check the liquid levels (or not properly verify) – An automatic transmission should be checked with heat, with the car in neutral and the parking brake. Engine oil should be checked with the hot car, but turned off. The radiator fluid levels only be checked when the car is cold, because if you check it when the car is hot, pressure builds up in the radiator can cause severe burns.
3) Do it yourself oil changes, lubrication or regular jump – Change your own oil, while it seems like a good alternative, is not because we must lift the car, drain the oil, which is messy, then you are stuck with trying to remove the used oil.
Taking your vehicle to a workshop lubrication is much better, because I finish off everything, lubricate the chassis, and more, for a low price. If you do the math, is not only cheaper, but usually ends in ten minutes, compared with the hours dedicated to make your own arrangements.
4) Not having regular inspections brake, or not changing the tablets with plenty frequency – The incessant shriek every time the brake is a warning that the pads are worn to the uprights, and scrapes against the drums and rotors. Taking the time for the brakes changed, at least two hundred dollars in most cases, it is much cheaper than having to replace the rotors and drums.
5) Not sure the gas cap is low – if the engine light comes on, you could say that its cap is released, and the air is interfering with their fuel consumption. Making sure your gas cap is on properly, you will not have to take your vehicle to get marked by something so simple.
